International Engagement Launches Annual Winter Clothing Drive

The Office of International Engagement is once again launching it's Annual Winter Clothing Drive. Accepted donations include, but are not limited to, coats, boots, mittens, hats, scarves and sweaters. Through donations, OIE is able to provide free winter clothing to the international population at UNI. Donations will be accepted from October 2023 through February 2024 at the OIE office at Maucker Union 113. For questions stop by the office or call 319-273-6421.

UNI Public Safety is partnering with Rave Guardian as an additional way to keep yourself and the campus safe. This free app creates a virtual safety network that can immediately connect you with the UNI Police Department or other local authorities. Download for Apple or Android devices.

Life Size Games and Floats

Join the Active Minds group for root beer floats and fun life-size games on Campanile field Tuesday, September 26 at 6 p.m. Hang out, invite friends and enter the raffle for an amazing prize.

Next IAF Application Deadline is Thursday, October 5

Completed IAF applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 5 (if applying for travel funds, this deadline is for research applications or any trips occurring between November 1 and November 30). The Intercollegiate Academics Fund (IAF) is a yearly allocation of Student Activity Fee monies that exists to promote and support intercollegiate academic experiences for University of Northern Iowa students. Specifically, the IAF supports students in two ways: 1) through a travel fund for students who participate in intercollegiate academic competitions and presentations at professional conferences; and 2) through a research and creative activity fund which supports student research and creative activities. Academic Success Workshop #5: Note Taking

Community Tour: 415 Walnut Project

Take a tour through 415 Walnut Street, Waterloo on Tuesday, October 10 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This event is free; however, registration is required.  The event begins promptly at 6:00 pm. Refreshments will be served outside the building from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. For more information visit Creative Cedar Valley on social media.

2023 RSP Capacity Building Grant Program - Request for Proposals

The Research and Sponsored Programs Capacity Building Grant Program offers seed grants to faculty and staff for research, creative activities and other projects which need early phase support to become competitive for external funding. Awards are made up to a maximum of $10,000 each. A letter of intent is due by Tuesday, October 31; full applications are due by Monday, December 5.
