Individuals who work in the public sector (e.g. UNI employees) may qualify for the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. For UNI-managed computers, IT takes care of ensuring that the machine you use is kept up-to-date and patched. For personally-owned devices, including many devices that aren't "computers", the update responsibility is squarely on your shoulders. Some devices provide "automatic updates". Turn that on and take advantage of it. Otherwise, set a reminder at least once per month to check for updates and apply those that are available.
Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. Part of the RSP training series, this Zoom session focuses on an overview of subawards and subcontracts including their elements and when to utilize a subaward versus a subcontract (pre-award) and once you’ve received the prime award (post-award).
