WIND CAVE NATIONAL PARK, SD – The University of Northern Iowa’s Josh Sebree, an Associate Professor with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will be hosting a program Tuesday, April 19, at 3 p.m. CDT on the Wind Cave National Park’s Facebook page in celebration of National Park Week.

UNI researchers to study how Indigenous communities adapt to Arctic climate change

The University of Northern Iowa’s Arctic Remote and Cold Territories Interdisciplinary Center (ARCTICenter) was recently awarded a $720,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to study how people could collectively manage climate change in the Arctic.

The Iowa Waste Reduction Center at the University of Northern Iowa was recently selected to receive an EPA Region 7 2021 Pollution Prevention Award. The award will be formally presented on Oct. 26 during ceremonies at the Midwest Environmental Compliance Conference.

AmeriCorps environmental program at UNI continues to grow

UNI’s Green Iowa AmeriCorps program recently received a $1.1 million federal grant that will fund thousands of statewide community environmental service projects. The three-year grant will support 114 service members who will partner with 24 organizations across Iowa to carry out projects in residential energy efficiency, environmental education, land restoration and water quality.
