UNI School of Music to host New Music Festival

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa School of Music will hold its second annual New Music Festival March 10 to 12. The free public festival will feature guest composer and performer Molly Joyce, and accordionist Branko Džinović as well as UNI faculty and student performers.

Waterloo Schools Foundation pledges $300,000 to diversify district’s teacher workforce

 A $300,000 grant from Waterloo Schools Foundation will fund the expansion of a thriving partnership between the Waterloo Community School District (WCSD) and the University of Northern Iowa (UNI).

Teach Waterloo aims to diversify the K-12 teacher workforce in support of student success – research has shown that having a teacher of color in a classroom is associated with higher achievement and increases the likelihood that students of color complete high school and attend college.

UNI Additive Manufacturing Center adopts new name, realigns focus to sustainability and future projects

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa Additive Manufacturing Center has changed its name to the UNI Foundry 4.0 Center as it enters a new period of technological advancements. The center is housed at the TechWorks Campus in Waterloo.

For the last eight years, the center has been a leader in bringing additive technologies to the metal casting industry. During that time, multiple advancements were made in the technology and the materials used for 3D sand printing that drastically reduced the cost of production.

University of Northern Iowa ranks in top 20% for online master’s in education programs

The University of Northern Iowa’s online master’s in education programs ranked among the top 20% nationally in a 2022 U.S. News and World Report review released today.

The UNI programs ranked 53 among 322 programs for master’s degrees, climbing 19 places from 2021.
