UNI announces new details on in-person spring commencement

University of Northern Iowa announced new details about the upcoming in-person spring commencement, including that graduates participating in the ceremonies in May will be allowed to bring up to four guests to celebrate their achievements.

Thanks to some help from a business accelerator program and the University of Northern Iowa, four Black-owned businesses are now selling their products in Hy-Vee stores.

TheatreUNI will present a virtual performance of “It’s Greek to Me,” which will become available for streaming later this month.

UNI students place second in national public health competition

A team of University of Northern Iowa students earned second place in the National Case Study Competition in Health Education, a virtual format competition that brought together students from around the country to participate in addressing a community health issue.

New UNI Transfer Student Center offers support, connection for diverse group of students

When UNI’s advising offices moved into a new location, the wheels in Danielle Weide’s head started turning. As assistant director of transfer recruitment, she’s long dreamed of opening a center to provide services to UNI’s significant population of incoming transfer students. 

That dream of a dedicated space for transfer students came to fruition in January when the new Transfer Student Center opened in Gilchrist 028.
