The University of Northern Iowa Institute for Decision Making (IDM) and Strategic Marketing Services (SMS), in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority, recently launched the third Iowa COVID-19 Business Impact Survey to assess the current impacts of the pandemic on Iowa’s businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The University of Northern Iowa is inviting our spring 2021 graduates to celebrate their accomplishments at modified, in-person commencement ceremonies inside the UNI-DOME in May.
In order to comply with social distancing guidelines, three separate ceremonies for bachelor’s and master’s candidates will be held in the UNI-DOME from May 7-8. Plans for a separate doctoral candidate ceremony are expected to be announced within a few weeks.
Comedy night is coming live and in-person to the Gallagher Bluedorn. Tammy Pescatelli and Orlando Leyba will bring their stand-up comedy on Saturday, March 27, 2021 to the University of Northern Iowa’s Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.
The Aldo Leopold Distinguished Lecture Series committee is excited to announce that Robert Bullard, known as the “father of environmental justice,” will deliver a timely virtual presentation focused on the intersections of climate change and environmental justice. This event is free and open to all audiences.
The presentation will be hosted via Zoom at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 1. It will be followed by a Q&A session.

In addition to the accolade, Director for Military and Veteran Student Services Chiquita Loveless was recently named as the Military Hero for MercyOne’s 2021 Heroes Among Us, an annual initiative that honors community leaders, for her commitment in support of improving conditions for veterans on campus and in the community.
UNI NEWS SERVICES - Rebekah (Bekah) Craighton, a senior at Hampton Dumont High School in Hampton, Iowa, has been awarded the Sally Gearhart Strottman Memorial Scholarship in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Iowa. The UNI College of Education awards this scholarship to an incoming freshman from Northeast Iowa who will pursue a degree in elementary education.
